The Great Holyoke Brick Race

Kinetic Art
You are invited to build a brick race car for the 12th annual Great Holyoke Brick Race! As the name implies, a “Brick Race” involves designing and building a brick racecar that is cleverly mounted on wheels and raced down an inclined track using only gravity to cross the finish line. Our Brick Race will emphasize creativity and the sculptural quality of the racers as well as making the fastest machine to cross the finish line first. Watch the race or register your own racer!

The Great Holyoke Brick Race

The Great Holyoke Brick Race was born sometime in 2010 when Bruce Fowler and Dean Nimmer were trying to figure out how to stage an exciting racing event like the “Belt Sander” races on YouTube.
